Resource Spotlight: Add A Dash of Color

Posted by

After using a limited color palette for most of October because of #Inktober, I’m ready to add some color. Here are some artists resources that might be helpful for you.

➡️ Magic of Mary Blair: It would be impossible to focus on color and #kidlit and not mention the imitable Mary Blair.
➡️ Color Matters: website created by Jill Morton which discusses every hue of color theory.
➡️ The (Not) Rule of Color Relationships: video essay by Nathan Fowkes.
➡️ How to Teach Color Theory & Resources: Art Ed Radio discuses color theory with Andrea Slusarski, The Nerdy Art Teacher. Podcast & website also links to many resources.
➡️ Pantone Instagram: I subscribe to this Instagram account for print-worthy palette ideas.
➡️ Adobe Color: searchable database of color palettes. Also allows users to upload images to pull palettes.
